About The Public Square® Radio Broadcast:
In 1980 the American Policy Roundtable was founded and dedicated to restoring Judeo-Christian principles to American public policy. In 1989 the Roundtable began a daily radio broadcast titled, The Public Square®. The mission was clear:
- Meet with Americans every day to retell the story of Liberty
- Challenge citizens to rediscover America, and
- Encourage responsible citizenship by focusing on positive alternatives in public policy. The Public Square® is a conversation on how to walk out a Biblical worldview in the field of public policy. The program airs in a two-minute daily broadcast and a weekly 60-minute broadcast. The show is a "team broadcast" co-anchored by David Zanotti, President and CEO of the American Policy Roundtable and Wayne Shepherd, career radio veteran and long-time host of Moody's "Open Line." Additional team members include:
- historian and Pastor Dr. Jeff Sanders
- Melanie Elsey, veteran Legislative Director, the American Policy Roundtable
- Dr. Charles McGowen, retired Air Force Flight Surgeon, Medical Professor, and author
- Dr. Sterling Glover, Dean at Temple University, Pastor of Emmanuel Baptist Church in Cleveland, Ohio.
Any subject of the news is fair game on The Public Square® but the program does much more than talk about the news or venture opinions. The broadcast uncovers the historic principles that play in critical issues and provide listeners positive opportunities to get involved and make a difference. All of this is done from a platform of non-partisanship and independence from any political party or candidate.
The Public Square® is a content rich, conversation that stands in the historic stream of the Lordship of Jesus Christ over all areas of life. It is an interactive model supported by the nearly 30 years of resources of the American Policy Roundtable including several of the most visited public policy websites in the nation.
